DLIMS Balochistan: How to Verify and Get a Driving License in Quetta
DLIMS Balochistan is the name most people search for, but licences in Quetta are issued and checked by Quetta Traffic Police. This guide explains what you can do online, what still needs a branch visit, and how to stay safe from look-alike websites.
DLIMS Balochistan in short
Balochistan does not use Punjab's DLIMS. In Quetta, licences are handled by Quetta Traffic Police, and Quetta Police lists a Driving Licence Verification service at qtp.gob.pk. The Balochistan Traffic Police app on Google Play also offers licence verification and learner applications. If an online check fails, visit or call the licence branch with your CNIC and licence.

Is there a DLIMS Balochistan system?
Strictly speaking, no. DLIMS is the Driving License Issuance Management System built for Punjab, which our DLIMS Punjab guide covers. Over time, however, "DLIMS" has become a general word for any online licence system. So when people type DLIMS Quetta or DLIMS Gwadar, they usually want Balochistan's own licence services.
In Balochistan, those services sit with the police. Quetta Traffic Police handles licence issuance, vehicle checks and traffic management in the provincial capital. In addition, Balochistan Police runs Police Khidmat Markaz (PKM) facilitation services, including mobile units in Quetta. Our short explainer on DLIMS sets out how the provincial systems differ.
They are not run by the police, and some show fees or forms with no source.
Official Balochistan police services use addresses ending in gob.pk or gov.pk. Never enter your CNIC on any other site.
DLIMS Balochistan verification: what works online
Balochistan driving license verification is the question most people bring to this page, so here is a straight answer. An online check does exist for Quetta records. The Quetta Police smart applications page lists "Driving Licence Verification" and points to qtp.gob.pk. That said, the portal runs as a JavaScript app, and we could not confirm its exact form fields from outside. Expect to enter your CNIC or licence number, as other provincial checkers ask for.
You have three ways to check a Balochistan licence.
Keep your expectations realistic. Older handwritten or manually entered licences may not show online at all. Similarly, a licence issued in a district outside Quetta may sit in a separate record. In those cases, a written or phone confirmation from the issuing office is the reliable route.
Licence issued in another province
A licence issued outside Balochistan is always checked on its home province's portal. For example, a Karachi licence is verified through DLS Sindh, and a Peshawar licence through KPK licence verification. For Islamabad, use ITP's DLIMS Islamabad. Motorway (NHMP) licences have their own checker at dla.nhmp.gov.pk.
How to get a driving license in Quetta
The path follows the national pattern under the Motor Vehicles Ordinance 1965: learner permit first, then tests, then a permanent licence. However, Balochistan does not publish a detailed step-by-step guide online. The steps below describe the usual process, so confirm local details at the branch.
Age and categories
Pakistani licensing law sets 18 as the usual minimum for motorcycles and cars. Commercial categories such as LTV, HTV and PSV need a higher age and, for heavy vehicles, earlier driving experience. Because Balochistan does not publish its category rules online, ask the branch before you start a commercial application.
Documents for a DLIMS Balochistan application
No official Balochistan page we could access lists the full document set. Still, the checklist below covers what licence branches across Pakistan routinely ask for. Bring originals and photocopies.
- Original NADRA CNIC and two or three photocopies
- Recent passport-size photographs on a plain background
- Medical or eye-sight certificate, especially for commercial categories
- Your learner permit when you return for the tests
- Current or expired licence for renewal or duplicate requests
- Passport with visa and a valid licence for an International Driving Permit
- Paid bank challan or fee ticket
DLIMS Balochistan fees: what is published
Here is the honest position on Balochistan driving license fees. Neither qtp.gob.pk nor the Quetta Police pages we reviewed publish a current fee schedule. Several private sites show Balochistan fee tables, but none cite an official source, so we do not repeat them here.
What we can say with confidence:
- Fees are paid through a bank challan or fee ticket, and the branch tells you the amount for your category.
- The Balochistan Traffic Police app lists a fee calculator, which is the best official estimate you can get before visiting.
- Sindh and Punjab fees do not apply in Balochistan, so ignore figures from those provinces.
Keep the paid challan until your card arrives. It is your proof of payment if the file is delayed.
Licence renewal under DLIMS Balochistan
The PKM Balochistan portal describes online tracking of applications and courier delivery of issued documents. However, its main page does not list licence services by name. So ask your nearest Police Khidmat Markaz whether it can start a renewal, or go to the licence branch.
People often search for Balochistan driving license renewal online. At the time of writing, however, we found no fully online renewal like Sindh's DLS Online. The Balochistan Traffic Police app listing does not include renewal either. For now, expect to submit your old licence, CNIC, photographs and a medical certificate in person.
Renew before the expiry date. Driving on an expired licence can lead to a fine, and a long gap may add a late charge. Ask the branch what applies to you.
International Driving Permit from Balochistan
If you hold a Balochistan licence and plan to drive abroad, you need an International Driving Permit. Ask the Quetta licence branch whether it issues IDPs and what it charges. Typically you need a valid passport with a visa, your valid permanent licence, your CNIC and photographs. Apply well before travel, because the permit is tied to a valid domestic licence.
DLIMS Gwadar, Turbat and other districts
Searches for DLIMS Gwadar are common, yet no separate Gwadar licence portal exists under DLIMS Balochistan or any other name. Outside Quetta, licensing arrangements vary by district. Some districts handle learner permits locally, while others may refer certain categories to a larger centre.
- Start with the District Police Office (DPO) or the traffic police office in your district town, such as Gwadar, Turbat (Kech), Khuzdar or Sibi.
- Ask whether your licence will be entered in the Quetta Traffic Police system, so it can be verified online later.
- Carry extra photocopies, because photocopy shops may be far from the office.
- Before any long trip to Quetta, confirm by phone that the branch can process your category that day.
- Keep a photo of your licence and fee challan on your phone as a backup.
The Quetta Police traffic page lists 081-9201264 (DIG Quetta office, Zarghoon Road) as its contact number. Use it to find the right branch if the district office cannot help.
Common DLIMS Balochistan problems and fixes
The portal shows a blank page. qtp.gob.pk needs JavaScript. So update your browser, switch off data-saving modes and try again, or use the official app instead.
No record found. Older and district-issued licences may not be online. Instead, ask the issuing office for confirmation and bring your CNIC.
App form rejects your date of birth. Some app users have reported form bugs. Update the app, then try again, or apply at the branch.
Lost licence. Report the loss, then apply for a duplicate at the issuing office with your CNIC and photographs. Staff will tell you whether a police report is required.
A website asks for payment to "verify" your licence. Close it. Official verification is free, and this guide never asks for your CNIC.

Frequently Asked Questions About DLIMS Balochistan
Short answers to what Balochistan drivers ask most.
01Is DLIMS Balochistan an official system?
No, DLIMS is Punjab's system. Balochistan licences are handled by Quetta Traffic Police and Balochistan Police. People still use "DLIMS Balochistan" as a search term for these services.
02How can I check my Balochistan driving license online?
Open qtp.gob.pk and use the driving licence verification option, or use the Balochistan Traffic Police app from Google Play. If your record does not appear, confirm it at the issuing branch with your CNIC.
03What is the official website of Quetta Traffic Police?
The official address is qtp.gob.pk, and Quetta Police information is on quettapolice.gob.pk. Sites with names like "DLIMS Quetta" on other domains are private. Do not enter your CNIC on them.

Partly. The Balochistan Traffic Police app lists learner licence applications. You still visit the branch for tests and the permanent licence.
05What are the driving license fees in Quetta?
No current official fee schedule is published online. The branch confirms the amount, and you pay it through a bank challan. The official app's fee calculator gives an estimate.
06Can I renew my Balochistan driving license online?
Not fully, as far as we could confirm. PKM Balochistan offers application tracking, but check with your centre whether it handles licence renewal. In practice, you submit your old licence, CNIC and photographs in person.
07Is there a DLIMS Gwadar portal?
No separate Gwadar portal exists. Start at the district police or traffic office in Gwadar and ask whether the licence goes into the Quetta Traffic Police system.
08Is a Balochistan driving license valid in other provinces?
Yes, a valid Balochistan licence lets you drive anywhere in Pakistan. Keep it renewed and carry the card, since officers and employers elsewhere may want to verify it.
09How do I verify a Sindh or Punjab licence in Quetta?
Use the issuing province's portal. Sindh licences are checked on dls.gos.pk, and Punjab licences on the DLIMS Punjab verify page. Our all-province checker guide lists each link.
Final word on DLIMS Balochistan
DLIMS Balochistan is really Quetta Traffic Police's licence system, supported by PKM services and an official app. Online verification works through qtp.gob.pk and the app, but fees, tests and most renewals still need a branch visit. So call ahead, carry your CNIC and copies, and keep every challan.
Most importantly, stick to gob.pk and gov.pk addresses. When something here changes, tell us so we can update this guide.
